Here's a few bits'n'pieces i've stumbled across in my travels that have been useful for my wee creative enterprise or have just resonated with me. You might find them useful too...
General creative business stuff:
Heaps of business stuff in Design Sponge's Biz Ladies.
I completed the 'Flying Lessons' e-course run by Kelly Rae Roberts, a successful artist who shared her knowledge and experience on all aspects of running a creative business. The course covered so much ground, from time management to social networking, the ins and outs of selling strategies, etc. She has now released an eBook of the course materials which i can certainly recommend. Also, the archives of Kelly Rae's blog are an interesting read to track the course and success of her business.
Marissa Haedike is the lady behind Creative Thursday and she's recorded a series of podcasts on heaps of the topics around creative business, inspiration, time management, etc. Well worth a listen, find them here and here.
Some 'Crafty Biz' tips from Jess @ Epheriell Designs.
The ETSY sellers blog - there is very little that you won't find here.... articles on just about everything you'll need for running and marketing an etsy shop.
Blacksburg Belle - Creative business tips, strategies and resources. Sign up to the newsletter.
Heartmade: Mayi Karles - More creative business tips and organisational resources. Be warned, this girl is super perky.
Working at home:
This is a wonderful blog post from Ali Edwards, photographer, author and digital scrapbooker extraodinaire. In it she talks about working at home, the routines, the challenges, the things that have worked for her or not, trying to be balanced and keeping perspective. Well worth a read.
Digital art:
The Pugly Pixel has some great little bits and pieces that you can download and use for personal or commercial use. Highly recommend! Click here to see what is available.
